TREAT-NMD Expert Masterclass in Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)
Applications have now closed.
Someone from the Secretariat will be in touch with the applicants in due course.
It will take place at the Royal Society of Medicine, London, UK on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th October 2019.
The debilitating nature of spinal muscular atrophy means that timely diagnosis and effective care are integral to improving the prognosis and quality of life of patients. Leading experts will deliver training via presentations and interactive sessions with the aim of disseminating up-to-date information on genetics, disease mechanism, diagnosis, patient perspectives, motor development, nutrition, anticipatory care and therapy options for paediatrics and adults.
The masterclass is suitable for all health care professionals including neurologists, dietitians, physiotherapists, respiratory specialists and other specialist disciplines from across Europe who may encounter and provide care to patients with SMA.
Travel and accommodation should be arranged independently and places are highly competitive so it is important to apply early. Places will be allocated based on how applicant’s attendance will have the widest benefit to the SMA patient community and will be decided on by the TREAT-NMD Education Committee (TEC). You will be asked to explain how the masterclass will benefit your work as part of the application process.
For potential funding opportunities or if you have any other questions please contact Nicole O’Connor the SMA education coordinator: firstname.lastname@example.org Tel: 0191 241 8858
