Raffaella Willmann studied Biology in Italy and obtained her PhD in Biochemistry in Konstanz (Germany). After a first post-doc position in muscle physiology in Konstanz, she joined the group of Prof. Fuhrer in at the University of Zürich in 2000. There, she worked on a project on the formation and stabilization of the neuromuscular junction. She joined TREAT-NMD on March 1st, 2007 as scientific writer and Activity coordinator, where she implemented initiatives to improve reproducibility and reliability of preclinical efficacy trials (creation of SOPs, organisation of workshops, publishing of reviews and position papers).
Since 2012, she is affiliated to the Swiss Foundation for Research on Muscle Diseases as scientific assistant.
