Amy Gray is the Chief Executive Officer of the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA), a patient advocacy organization driving CMT research. In her role as CEO, she has worked closely with the CMTA’s scientific, therapeutic, and clinical expert boards to drive the CMTA’s Strategy to Accelerate Research (STAR) which has led to more than 20 new pharmaceutical, biotechnology and industry partners in the last 2 years. The CMTA is now funding more than 50 active research projects, investing in the most promising science that will lead to treatments for the 2.8 million patients living worldwide with CMT.
Amy has two decades of management experience in national voluntary health agencies, combined with a strong understanding of mission-driven organizations. Her experiences working for four non-profit health care organizations have shaped her expertise in fundraising, staff development, financial and operational management, strategic planning and patient/community engagement.
Prior to joining the CMTA, Amy served in executive roles at the Parkinson’s Foundation, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
