Alejandra Pereda Alonso
Alejandra has a very analytical mindset and her entire professional life has been dedicated to equity research so after learning about her son’s illness (intermediate DMD/BMD); She have tried to study everything about the disease with a strong focus in ongoing investigation and trials pipeline. She speaks Spanish, English and French fluently and travel regularly to Europe and US.
As part of TREAT-NMD Alejandra is able to provide and defend the patients’ view and establish a communication channel with patients aided by my language skills. She would also like to help in communication with institutions and help with setting up private financing when necessary as she has good connections there. Her goal is that all patient communities and researchers can work together so that we can reach a cure or treatment as soon as possible, and her hope, obviously, that all children can have the best quality of life possible despite NMD. She is currently part of Duchenne Parent Project Spain, cooperating with everything but with specific responsibility in International research and developments.
Alejandra is married and has 3 children of which oldest one affected by MD. She works in the investment banking industry and have been doing so for the past 18 years, right after graduating from University on business administration.
