Richard Roxburgh, MB ChB, FRACP, PhD, runs a Neurogenetics clinic at Auckland City hospital covering neuromuscular diseases as well as ataxias, hereditary spastic paraparesis and Huntington’s disease. At the University he has established the Neurogenetics Research Clinic where patients with specific genetic conditions are being followed in natural history studies as well as interventional trials. He is the PI of the New Zealand Neuromuscular Disease Registry which enrols patients with a wide variety of neuromuscular conditions.
He looks after a large cohort of patients with myotonic dystrophy and has described new features of the condition such as epiretinal membranes.
